Who We Are

Global Empowerment Solutions (GES) is a woman-owned firm established in 2015 by Samira Cook Gaines and Candice Miles, both of whom believe in the power of entrepreneurship to create a pathway out of poverty. With a combined 25 years in business development and women’s empowerment, GES is able to leverage that experience for clients who seek a holistic approach to community economic development in the United States and globally, with an emphasis on countries working toward economic independence for women. GES specializes in Business Development strategies, creative business training, organizational development training and program management.   

Samira Cook Gaines

Samira was born with a global heart that drew her to public service.  She has traveled the world educating organizations, entrepreneurs, and governments on economic empowerment, women's issues and entrepreneurship.  She has successfully built programs from idea to implementation in the government, non-profit and private sectors and secured private and federal funding to support community development.  Through GES, Samira's goal is to live her God-given purpose to help others take their leap of faith and soar!

Candice Miles

Candice is an experienced advocate for entrepreneurship, federal government contracting and economic development. Beginning her career during the economic boom of the housing market, she followed an inner calling to help people and entrepreneurship answered. Candice has successfully created and implemented programming in the non-profit and government sectors that continues to have an impact on people's daily lives through improved operation of their sustainable businesses. Through GES, Candice is living her dreams out loud and is excited to continue to make a difference with every person she comes in touch with!
